I love that Slumper is always referred to as Emo Bunny in the comments. That actually sums him up perfectly. Now for nicknames for the other animals…

Heh, Logicphant
game knowledge proves that shiny things are important and useful, but in this case not so much lol
For once the know-it-all elephant is wrong, should have listened to emo bunny Anna <XD -aside from never getting out of bed and crying that is….
Love the Occam’s Razor. Cozimo’s, of course, the one who’d say that! XP
Haha, I love Scoozie’s face in the last panel.
Actually, I love EVERYONE’S face in the last panel, SHINY!
Nice page, with only the animals in it. It makes it really interesting…
Scooziecat = srs cat
hipster kat
I think that Shiney is as good a name as any for the Squirrel.
Well the only other nickname I can think of is “Cool Cat”, because I guess s/he’s supposed to represent Anna’s calm side? And I’m lame and I can’t think of any other unique names XD
And I wants that shiny sword O.O
“Strat Cat”, anyone? (“Strat” being an abbrev. for “strategy”, ya see.) My friend and I think it suits.
MAN Wish these came out earlier/ no suspence
Well I always think of the elephant as Horton and the closest I got to a name for Scooziecat was Macavity (even if that is a villain)…
Actually, what personality aspect IS Scooziecat? Slumper’s Pessimism, Cozimo’s the analytacil logical part of Anna’s mind, Fribble’s the “Want! Want! Want!” part, Puff the Magic Dragon is her sense of morality and appropriateness, the dove’s her romantic side… so what’s Scooziecat?
Fribble – ADHD/Excitable Squirrel
Slumper – Emo Bunny
Scooziecat – Chill cat (couldn’t think of a better one)
Cosimo – couldn’t think of anything better than the one provided (Logicphant)
Rafella – Love Dove
Momur – Righteous Dragon (idk, he just seems to do things by the book)
Sometimes, people are naked. I’d love to see how Bethanny means to hurt Anna by pointing out this fact. But I’m afraid I don’t care about the comic enough to stick around to find out.
The art is nice, and the embodiments of inner voices is an interesting concept. That alone could be the basis of a good story. But the characters, as far as we have seen, are bland, stereotypical and for the most part unbelievable as human beings. The plot lacks depth and momentum as well as credibility.
There’s potential for a good story here, and I’m sure you can fulfill it, but it would have been better if you had taken the time to do that before beginning publication. I’m going to give you the time to make up for that, simply by waiting a few years before I try reading the comic again. Best of luck!
I agree with Jenny that this plot isn’t very interesting, though, I might say that adds a certain degree of realism to it considering that it’s about everyday life at high school. The fact that some guy snapped a pic of Anna while in the shower when she wasn’t looking can be explained away as just that, so I wouldn’t consider that a formula for social ruin, at most a formula for embarrassment, though Anna is drawn as a pretty good looking girl so it might end up being somewhat positive, if she can handle ogling. So realistically that means the adversity here is not as great as it’s being made out. Maybe that will end up being the whole point of it. I’ll stick around to see. The guy who took it could be made out to be a pedophile, considering he isn’t a student there, so that could spell his ruin.
The characters, like Jenny said, aren’t that well developed, though I will say that developing characters is a lengthy process, so one should keep that in mind. Even so, the stereotypes are a bit too obvious, as she said. Bethanny seems a bit too much evil to be believable. Even the most stereotypical popular teenage girls have other things to think about besides bullying outcasts, like their blooming social life, being a bitch is just something they do on the side, when it doesn’t take much effort, like stealing boyfriends at a dance or something. Hijacking a guys cell phone for pictures it supposedly has seems a bit far-fetched. The friends she’s making aren’t developed well as characters, though, I might say they haven’t really been put in situations to develop their character much, so unlike Jenny, I can let that slide.
Now for the praise. I absolutely love the way you embody the different aspects of Anna’s character as their own characters. It’s a wonderful concept that has so much artistic potential and makes for an enjoyable read in every comic in which they interact. This may be a bit of a one-trick pony of a comic so far, I suppose, but I love that one trick! At any rate, it is a remarkable feat for such a new comic to make readers enthusiastic about it right from the beginning, and this comic has done just that. Writers get better at writing as they continue to write, but if they can do something with artistic merit from the beginning, then they are well worth seeing through to a point where they have mastered their craft.
To the artist, I have no complaints, you’ve had solid illustrations since the first page. Much better than I’ve usually seen of webcomics in their early stages. Keep up the good work, but feel free to improve upon it as you continue, that’s something I’ve come to expect in webcomics that I read.
COOL CAT AND LOVE BIRD OBVI!!!
Is there any schedule to these updates or are they just random? i check it almost every day cause i’d like to see the story move on, but i’m disappointed far more often than not.
I don’t know why people are complaining that the story for this series is not “in-depth”. It’s DRAMA, what did you expect? Some sort of hidden, secret recipe to life?
“Shiny”, Firefly reference?
