Welcome to the fourth Hot Mess Pinup! And before you say it, yes we know we’re behind on the strips, and yes, we’re absolutely working to increase our speed. What do you guys think – should we post when we have them, or take a longer hiatus, and stock up a war chest so that we can post on a regular schedule in the future? In any case, thank you all for continuing to read!
This pinup is by the incredible artist Jason Banditt Adams (also here, and here!). Jason’s been a professionsal artists and designer for over 12 years, with his feet firmly planted in the realms of scifi, gaming and fantasy. I’ve been following his comic Rogue’s Gallery since it’s inception, and I think he’s got a great sense of style and spatial design.
So, when I asked him for a Hot Mess Pinup and he accepted, I was ecstatic. I was thinking that his experience with the fantastical would lend itself to a “what if the animals (especially Momur, the dragon) were real” scenario. But as always, the artists I work with always surprise me by going in unexpected directions. In this case, Jason brought Anna’s inner voices into the physical world by way of making them stuffed animals. Very clever, Jason! And it made for a very cute and sweet pinup.
Hope you guys like it!

stock up so that things won’t go so slow in the future
oh I love this poster
awesome job
You DO realize this means all sorts of people will want to BUY stuffed animals versions of your characters now…right?
I ran a webcomic until the website I was associated with shut down. What really works is draw two, post one. Then when you have something come up you have a stock pile. It isn’t as hard as you think. Trust me. When you finish the second post the first. Also be firm with yourself. Schedule a set time every week for drawing. It isn’t about fast. It’s about consistent. I sat down and figured out exactly the amount of time it took to turn my storyboard into a comic and gave myself a couple pockets of time with room to spare. You can do it!
post them as you get them done please. I’d rather have slow progress than none. Interesting story line!
Make them faster so you won’t have to worry about not being able to post them.
Wonderful

I’d also say stock up enough so you can publish weekly.
Also your panels are really big, you can easily split them up to strips
so you can publish more often.
I think with your current update times, it will take you until the end of
the year to stock up enough
It would be nice though to find out WHAT you are planning and til WHEN
Also delays are acceptable, if only one knew how long to wait.
Post them when you make them, then you can see if you can establish a realistic posting goal by that.
I say post ‘em when you have ‘em.
Aww too cute. I want a Cosmo toy.
pin ups =/= pages.
they’re really just annoying, especially when, excluding pinups, there is even less comic and less updates.
