Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend. Just wanted to let you know that this week, we’ve not only got our regularly scheduled, brand new strips debuting on Tues and Thurs, but we’re also starting up Diana’s column! She’s been working really hard in preparation for connecting directly with you, and we all hope you enjoy it! Check back soon, as it will be up at any moment.
We keep getting asked if Hot Mess will be making an appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic Con – that great paragon of pop culture, Hollywood films, and ‘Twilight’ series trailer screenings.
And the answer is…. YES!
The details will be coming soon, but we are really looking forward to seeing and meeting many of you down in the lovely city of San Diego.
Remember, a new strip goes up tomorrow, and starting next week, we’ll be showcasing our first character bio!
I hope everyone had a great, long weekend! I know I definitely didn’t hit as many barbeque’s as I’d have liked. Ah well, there’s always Labor Day.
I want to thank everyone who stopped by the Webcomic Factory booth at the Phoenix Comicon. We had some Hot Mess posters there, and I heard they were a hit! I hope to have some pictures of the event soon.
Also, on a completely random note, on the way home on Saturday night, I was on the 101 Freewady in Los Angeles, and who pulled up next to us, but some guys dressed as Ghostbusters and driving the Ecto-1. Only in L.A…
Ok, there’ll be a new strip up tomorrow, and then another on Thursday. And as always, I’ll be posting as often as I have something interesting to say.
Hi everyone, Geoff here.
So it’s been a pretty great week. We launched the comic, we had an amazing launch party, and we’ve had some really great comments here on the site. Thanks to all of you for coming to check us out.
But we’re not done yet!
We’ve got a lot of plans up our sleeves in the near future for the site and for the comic.
First, we’ll be updating the character bio page, one by one. You’ll get the scoop on all the characters in the Hot Mess world, and what each of the Hot Mess animals are all about. They each have their own individual personalities and points of view, and I can’t wait to share them with you. We’ll also be featuring each character and animal in an on-going “Spotlight on…” series… coming soon in the blog.
Next, we’re going to do special posts by our amazing artist Emily Chan, and you’ll get a peek into how the art of Hot Mess came to be with exclusive sketches, character designs, and some original poster work. This is stuff I haven’t even seen yet!
Also, once we get rolling, Diana – who is a noted relationship expert – will be available to you to answer your lovelife questions. We’re going to do our best to answer everyone, and some of the questions will even be featured in special “Ask Diana” posts.
Anything else? Well… we’ll always announce when we’re appearing at conventions and other signings, and we’re always open to suggestions, so please, if you have any ideas that you’d like us to try, let us know!
Thanks for making this such a great first week, and I hope you guys stick around for the ride. We’ve got a ton of plans for Anna, her animals, and the Hot Mess crew, so I promise it’ll be worth it.
Have a great holiday weekend (for those in the U.S.), and we’ll see you next week with two brand new strips!
And below, here’s a sneak peek at Emily’s sketch book. It’s the design sketch for our favorite sad sack: Slumper.
Hi everyone – here are the as promised pictures from the Hot Mess debut at the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach. Thanks to Paltalk for being such gracious sponsors!
Check back in later today for a special blog post that’s going to sum up our first live week on the interwebs, give you an good idea of where we’re going to be taking the site over the next few weeks and months, and offer a special sneak peek at an upcoming feature!
